The exhibition project Plural Perspectives deals with contemporary dynamics and a variety of perspectives on buildings and places that carry a symbolic meaning for the city of Berlin. The project combines public space with artistic practices that initiate new dialogues with monuments, buildings or institutions in order to reflect on and question (historical) narratives supported by the state and capital. Five artistic positions create new perspectives on five locations in the city: Mall of Berlin, Siegessäule, Sarotti Fabrik, Haus der Berliner Konferenz and Humboldt Forum.
The connection between the public space and the artistic positions or the exhibition venue is the leitmotif of the design. As an existing starting point, the website (www.pluralperspectives.com) functions both as documentation and, above all, as a marking and linking map. The neo-grotesque font, Diatype Rounded, is used as an overarching design element. The font is a warm, curved sans with friendly forms, which contrasts with Erbar Grotesk and the German standard font DIN 1451 (street signs) and thus emphasizes the critical relationship that is established between the artistic positions, the exhibition site and the urban space.
